Internet Explorer 7 Review

April 11th, 2006 | Category: Reviews

Hey guys and gals. I really like the new Internet Explorer 7. It reminds me of Firefox.
here’s a screen capture:
 IE7

You should try it out. It has all of the old features of the previous version, plus all of the good features of Firefox. It also prevents internet pirates from phishing for your information. The new tab system allows you to open multiple webages in the same browser window, and it also uses the middle mouse button for more efficient web browsing. For example, you can click on a link with the middle button of the mouse and it will open the link in a new tab. Cool, huh? It has a ton more cool features too. I give it 4.5 out of 5 stars.

Real Estate Wealth Expo Review

April 10th, 2006 | Category: Reviews, Work

Last weekend I attended the Real Estate Wealth Expo presented by The Learning Annex. My best-friend at USC, Hector Molina, is awesome because he paid the entrance fee for me ($179). It is a two day event; Saturday, April 08, and Sunday, April 09.

Earvin “Magic” Johnson was a good speaker, and I really liked the information he presented with respect to urban and minority populations; information I wasn’t aware of. He was one of many other speakers that presented over the entire weekend, including Robert Kiyosaki and Donald Trump. All in all, I have to say, I wasn’t too impressed. Keep in mind I am a business student studying at one of the top 10 business schools in the nation. To tell you the truth, I kind of felt taken. I don’t need someone to TELL me that I CAN create my own business. I already know that. I was expecting more information, in terms of what to do. Do you know what I’m saying?

Here’s the deal… it kind of reminded me of a wagon rolling into town. On the side of the wagon, it reads “Miracle Cure.” And people come from neighboring towns to meet in front of the town square. The more they hear about this drug, the more they gather around this wagon in an effort to learn more about this “Miracle Cure” that cures all their sicknesses; in reality the “Miracle Cure” is a bottle of syrup that doesn’t do anything but contribute to their sickness.
I felt ripped off. They asked me to pay them $200 to learn things that I can watch on their PBS infomercials. What the hell was I doing there?! They left out a bunch of critical information just so people would buy their books. I’ll admit, their books are very good and well worth the read. But these “Pre-Paid Infomercials” are lame and a waste of time.

My advice for anyone planning on attending The Real Estate Wealth Expo: SAVE YOUR MONEY. Buy the books, take them home, and read them.

Summer Internship with Instant Capital Funding

April 03rd, 2006 | Category: School, Work

After two interviews, and as of a few hours ago, I managed to secure a summer internship with Instant Capital Funding Group Inc. This is a young company that is currently growing at a rapid pace. Their focus is on residential mortgage lending. This will be a great opportunity for me to learn more about loans and real estate. I feel very optomistic about the opportunities that will arise as a result of this internship. I’m feeling good right now. :)

 Update 4/04/06

A few minutes ago i recieved a call from my “Team” leader. She said we would be starting May 22, and to be ready. This is going to be a challenge, but I’m willing to step up to the plate and handle this opportunity.
